Yeggies “favourites” hard-working staffer

February 19, 2013

My Research & Communications Coordinator, Jasmine Franklin, has been nominated for an Edmonton New Media Award — The Yeggies — for Best in Political or Current Affairs.

These awards acknowledge and celebrate “outstanding social media content creators” in the Edmonton area.

“I’m extremely honoured and excited to be nominated for this award. It’s very rewarding to bring municipal politics into the daily lives of Edmontonians” says Jasmine.

“This city has an outstanding group of social media users and I’m thrilled to see them receive the recognition they deserve.”

Jas is always right at the front end of city council meetings tweeting, engaging citizens and answering questions. She’s on top of social media trends and keeps track of what matters to Edmontonians and what they say online.

A panel selected 62 finalists out of a total 215 nominations. There are as many as six final nominees for each of the 11 categories that also includes Best in Edmonton, Best in Food and Best in Sports among others.

Awards will be handed out May 4. To see the full list of nominees, visit www.yeggies.com

Jas does an excellent job and truly deserves this nomination.

Please join me in wishing her the best of luck!

Kerry Diotte is seeking the nomination to be the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in the federal riding of Edmonton-Griesbach. If chosen as the Edmonton-Griesbach candidate for the Conservatives, led by Stephen Harper, Kerry Diotte would run in a fall 2015 federal election against candidates for the Liberal Party of Canada led by Justin Trudeau and the New Democratic Party of Canada led by Thomas Mulcair.
