There has been more than five million vaccines administered here in Alberta

Millions of Albertans have received vaccines — including myself.

Overall, more than 75% of Albertans over the age of 12 have at least one shot.

The vaccine isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended.

Alberta Health Services and the Public Health Agency of Canada are encouraging all eligible Canadians to get the vaccine.

Vaccines are an important public health tool that will help us beat COVID-19.

There are also other benefits to getting vaccinated.

The Alberta government is offering vaccinated Albertans the chance to win one million dollars in a lottery. There are scores of other prizes too.

The Tokyo “2020” Olympic games have finally started

Team Canada is off to a great start at the Olympics.

As of Mon. July 7, Canada has a total of four medals — one gold, two silver and a bronze.

We’ve had great success already in swimming with Margaret Mac Neil winning gold in Women’s 100m Butterfly.

Mac Neil also won a silver medal with Penny Oleksiak, Kayla Sanchez, Rebecca Smith and Taylor Ruck as part of Team Canada’s Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay.

Jennifer Abel and Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu have also won a silver medal in Women’s 3m Synchronized Springboard (diving).

Finally, Jessica Klimkait won a bronze in Judo, Women’s 57kg.

Congratulations to all the medalists.
