December 2025
Season’s Greetings!
My wife Clare and I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season.
This is a special time of year, when we gather with loved ones, reflect on our blessings, and lend a hand to those who need it most.
As we celebrate the season, let’s be reminded of what truly matters: faith, gratitude, and generosity.
During Parliament’s holiday break, I’ve been grateful to volunteer with various organizations in our community. I’ve been busy delivering Christmas hampers for Amity House, participating in the Salvation Army toy drive, staffing a kettle with that organization, and participating in other community events with my staff.
Although it’s a joyous season, many across our community and across the country and struggling to make ends meet. If you’re able to, I encourage you to make a donation to Edmonton’s Food Bank, volunteer in our community, and give back if you can.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! I wish you a happy, healthy holiday season.
Thank you for celebrating Christmas with me
Thank you to everyone who attended my Edmonton Griesbach Christmas Event in November. It was an honour to host this Christmas celebration once again, and it was so special to see so many of you there.
Santa made an appearance, and the children’s Christmas colouring contest produced some incredible artwork!
Support for my Private Members’ Bill C-243
I’m humbled as support for my Private Members’ Bill C-243 continues to grow.
This bill would make it more difficult for murders to get parole, by reducing the frequency in which they can apply for it. This would also spare the families and loved ones of murder victims from the trauma of being face to face annually with their loved one’s killer at these parole hearings. You can learn more about Bill C-243 here.
Every email and call of support will be crucial to help encourage Members of Parliament from all sides of the House to vote in favour of pushing my Bill to the Committee stage.
At Committee, the Bill would be studied and amended if needed. We would get to hear from witnesses about how this legislation, which would change parole hearings from every year to every five years, would support victims’ rights.
I’m hopeful it will pass. If you’d like to see the Bill progress to the next stage, drop me a quick email to kerry.diotte@parl.gc.ca to share your comments and support.
Let me know I have your support!
Our religious freedom is under attack
This winter, the Liberals introduced a serious piece of legislation that will attack religious freedom in Canada.
Liberal government Bill C-9 will expose people of faith to criminal prosecution for simply quoting their own sacred texts. It’s toxic, divisive, and takes aim at freedom of expression. It cannot pass.
The government should never have the power to coerce or control your speech, or interfere in the practice of your faith!
As your Conservative MP, I’m staunchly against this. I will fight to see the Liberals back down on this hateful Bill. I will always defend our freedoms from reckless and unprecedented attacks.
To prevent this dangerous Bill from becoming law, please sign the Conservative Party’s petition right away to Stop Liberal Censorship Bill C-9.
Let’s show the Liberals that Canadians are united behind freedom of all religions, free speech, and free expression – staples of our Constitution.
Updates from Ottawa
It's been a super busy session in Parliament.
My staff and I have been busy fighting for you on several fronts in Ottawa.
I’ve been speaking out on issues ranging from crime, to cost of living, to unemployment.
Here are a few videos to check out:
LIBERAL DOUBLESPEAK: At Heritage Committee, I was told that Indigenous art is "not missing, just unaccounted for"
STEEL WORKERS PAY FOR THE COST OF CARNEY: Recently, 1,000 Algoma Steel workers in my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont learned they’ll be laid off. As Pierre Poilievre reminded the House, my father spent 30 years in that steel mill. I know exactly what these layoffs mean for families and for the community.
TOUGH ON CRIME: The Liberal soft-on-crime approach is not working. We should be doing more to keep Canadians safe. I called for action in Parliament.
LAX LIBERAL BAIL LAWS CREATE HAVOC: Communities across Canada are witnessing crime sprees by people who should have remained in jail. Just this summer, Edmonton was terrorized by a criminal who was out on bail. I called for tougher laws to protect Canadians.
Our staff is getting a well-deserved break
Please be advised that our Edmonton and Ottawa offices will be closed for the holidays between Dec. 22 and Jan. 2. Both offices will reopen on Jan. 5.
However, my team remains available to address any urgent situations.
If you require assistance over the closure, please email Kerry.diotte@parl.gc.ca with the subject line “URGENT” and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Kudos, comments, concerns?
It’s vital that I hear from you about issues that concern you.
Please feel free to reach out to me at kerry.diotte@parl.gc.ca
Thanks!
